The AEC launches a video on vehicle emissions according to the state of the pavement on the occasion of the IRMD 2020

On the International Road Maintenance Day (IRMD 2020), the Spanish Road Association (AEC, by its acronym in Spanish) has posted an informative video that explains the relationship between the state of conservation of the pavement, fuel consumption and emissions from vehicles.

“The tests were carried out on a stretch of 46 kilometers in length and confirm that, in the case of light vehicles, CO2 emissions decrease an average of 3.5% when driving on well-preserved asphalt, reaching 4% reduction for the heavy vehicles”, AEC sources explain.

The video shows the conclusions of the “Analysis of the relationship between the state of conservation of the pavement, fuel consumption and vehicle emissions” study carried out by the Spanish Road Association in collaboration with the Ponle Freno Platform, from the Atresmedia Communication Group and Mercedes Benz.
